Kacey Montoya found that more than 120 people demonstrated today against Portland-based PacifiCorp,requiring that four dams on the Klamath river be removed.Tens of commercial fishermen,conservationists took part at a public demonstrations organized by tribes native to the Klamath River Basin.Outside the PacificCorp's headquarters,the demonstants organized a march and a rally.
One of the demonstands declared to Kacey Montoya that the PacificCorp dams block the acces of salmon and at their spawning grounds.Tribal members claimed that this could be a serious threat for their cultere's survival and the salmon.PacifiCorp spokesman declared that the company is actually carrying negotiatons with the Portland federal authorities to trasnfer the ownership of the dams on remove it.
